Removing deodorant stains

Deodorant keeps unpleasant odors away. A downside is that it can cause white or yellow stains on your clothing.

How do deodorant stains occur?

White stains come from the deodorant itself. Deodorant leaves white marks when you put on a shirt before it has dried. You can often remove these easily by patting the fabric with your hands. Yellow stains, on the other hand, are caused by a chemical reaction when body oils, sweat, water, and the ingredients of the deodorant come together.

  • Soak the garment in cleaning vinegar for several hours. Then wash according to the instructions.
  • Rub the stain with a bar of gall soap and then put the garment in the washing machine.
  • Put three aspirin tablets in a bowl and add half a cup of warm water. Let it soak for two to three hours and wash the shirt according to the instructions.
