Circularity at Suitable
Future-proof menswear

At Suitable, it’s not just about what you wear — it’s also about what you leave behind. That’s why we take our responsibility when it comes to textile waste seriously. Through various partnerships and legal frameworks, we actively contribute to a circular economy. Discover how we approach this below:

What is
circularity?
More than just recycling

Circularity is about reusing raw materials and products within a closed system for as long as possible. The goal? To produce minimal waste, while maintaining quality and value.

At Suitable, we believe that circularity starts with the design. That is why our collections are made to last, even with intensive use and regular washing. Thanks to timeless designs, you can wear our clothing effortlessly for several seasons. We also take concrete steps to prevent waste:

  • Returned items and samples that are no longer saleable are given a second life through sales to employees. We invest the proceeds in team outings and staff parties.
  • In our stores you can go for clothing repairs and alteration services, where we act as an intermediary for brands such as Barbour, for example.
  • During production, we consciously choose natural and less polluting materials such as merino wool, bamboo and Sorona.
UPV Textiel
Working towards true circularity

UPV stands for: Extended Producer Responsibility. This legal regulation holds producers and importers accountable for the waste management of the products they place on the market.

For Suitable, this means collecting, reusing, and recycling clothing. As a member of the UPV Textiel producers’ association, we ensure full compliance with all legal requirements — including registration, reporting, and contributing to collective collection systems. This way, you can be confident that when you return or donate an item, it ends up in the right place.

Have your
old clothes recycled
Give your old clothes a second life

A better world for future generations is something we build together. That’s why we’ve partnered with Drop & Loop.

Customers can hand in their old or unwanted clothing in our stores, either via collection bins or at the checkout. These items are donated to people who can use them or recycled. The recycled materials are then used to create new garments — such as the Suitable Loop vests. In doing so, we achieve circularity: minimizing waste by reusing raw materials as much as possible.
