Material selection for a shirt
The popular materials used when producing shirts are bamboo, cotton, non-iron cotton and linen. Each material has its own properties that have advantages and disadvantages.
Bamboo shirt
The material is a fast-growing, biodegradable type of grass that is produced in a very environmentally friendly way. The properties of bamboo clothing are:

An iron-free cotton shirt
A non-iron cotton shirt has many advantages; they have the same properties as normal cotton, only you do not have to iron it, ideal! Linen shirts
Linen is a plant-based fibre, just like cotton. Linen is very strong and durable. Linen shirts provide a neat appearance. Besides the looks of the material, linen is moisture-absorbing and ideal for use in warm regions or periods. Linen can absorb 20% of its own weight in moisture and still feels dry and fresh. Linen is produced in an environmentally friendly way because relatively few chemicals are needed for it.

Which collar?
Shirts have countless collar versions, all of which are intended for different occasions. Which collar is right for you?

Button Down
This collar is fastened with two small buttons so that the collar stays neatly in place. This collar is mostly worn on informal occasions. -
Button Under
This collar is fastened with two small buttons, without these being visible. This keeps the collar neatly in place. We have the most extensive range of this collar. Because the buttons are not visible, the tie shows off nicely. Ideal for formal occasions, then! -
Cut A Way
With this collar the collar points are set further apart. The cut away actually only occurs on dress shirts, or in other words business shirts. This collar is often worn in combination with a tie and is therefore suitable for formal occasions. -
Kent
The Kent and the New Kent look very much alike. To make the choice a little easier, the Kent collar is highlighted. This collar stands slightly outwards and is therefore suitable to wear both with and without a tie. Wear a shirt with a Kent collar for formal and informal occasions. -
Wing collar
This collar has a standing collar with the collar points folded forward. This collar is only worn on formal occasions and is suitable to wear in combination with a bow tie, also called a wingtip. -

With this collar the collar points are set further apart. This collar is often worn in combination with a tie and is therefore suitable for formal occasions.
Cuffs: Single or Double?
To add an extra touch to your shirt, some shirts offer the option of wearing cufflinks. This ensures an extra stylish appearance. Cufflinks are worn less and less. This is due to the introduction of the city shirt. The city shirt was developed in the sixties and has, instead of cufflinks, standard plastic buttons.
