The wedding suit
Rule 1 is that the bride determines the style. For men there are various choices when it comes to wedding fashion, so pay attention:
- The men's suit, for which you can go for a two-piece or three-piece, but where you must always take into account that your shirt is matched to the colour of the bridal gown.

The tailcoat, which is an evening suit consisting of a black coat with silk lapels, a short-cut front and a long back, reaching to just above the back of the knee. You combine this with black trousers featuring a shiny braid along the side seams.
- The tuxedo, whose jacket can be recognised by its satin lapels, no flap pockets or vents, and trousers with a single shiny braid, without belt loops. The shirt you wear with a tuxedo has a concealed fastening, double cufflinks and a bow tie. Formally speaking, a tuxedo is not worn during the day.
The shoes
Make sure your shoes and belt are the same colour. If you have a black wedding suit, choose black shoes. If you go for a blue suit, choose dark brown shoes; if you want a chic look, choose black patent leather shoes under your navy-coloured suit. Black shoes also go very well under a grey suit and are seen as dressy and elegant. Brown shoes, on the other hand, suit light-coloured suits best. The Tie
If you go for a morning coat or suit, the tie is indispensable. You wear it at your wedding without a tie pin. The tie is stylish, classic but certainly also contemporary. If you're tall, go for a longer tie, and if you're shorter, choose the shorter version. If the tip of the tie hangs at the level of your belt after knotting, you've got the right length. Choose a tie that suits you and the wedding's possible colour theme perfectly, whether it's without a pattern or with a subtle chalk stripe — here you can really go all out.
The bow tie
If you go for the tailcoat or the tuxedo, don't forget the bow tie. The bow tie is completely hip again and certainly doesn't have to be boring. It comes in various colours, prints and fabrics. However, if you wear a tailcoat, etiquette dictates a white bow tie to go with it.
The pocket square
In the nineteenth century, a pocket square was worn as an extra handkerchief, clean and spotlessly white. Nowadays the pocket square has become a stylish accessory; on the wedding day it should never be combined with a corsage — it's one or the other. Make sure the pocket square matches your tie or bow tie and make your bride proud.
The Cufflinks
Your wedding suit isn't complete without cufflinks. From traditional to modern, choose the cufflink that suits you best. Cufflinks are the accessory for the stylish man to set himself apart. Silver or gold-coloured, they should match the colour of your wedding ring. If you go for coloured cufflinks, hold back a little and choose the colour of your shirt or suit.
