Since 1983, Steppin' Out has offered classic collections with a distinctive and modern twist for both men and women. After working on this brand with heart and soul for more than twelve years, owner Clé Enneking felt it was time to hand over Steppin' Out: "I really went in search of the right party for this, and that was without doubt Suitable." Rediscovering classics was something Suitable could identify with too. "In our conversations with Clé, the pieces of the puzzle fell into place," explains Suitable owner and founder Raoul van Dun. "I've always looked at Steppin' Out with pride. When I started out as an entrepreneur during my student days, this brand was my great role model."
Next step for Steppin’ Out
Enneking and Van Dun have known each other for years, but only sat down seriously last November. Van Dun: "We have the same target group and sell the same kind of clothing. So it's a natural extension of each other, and that's where we saw the opportunities. In the end, we decided that Steppin' Out will be part of Suitable as an independent brand. So we're going to invest in, build on and develop the existing stores, and work with the team to become one big family." The biggest changes consumers will notice are that Steppin' Out will sell menswear exclusively. In addition, most Steppin' Out stores will be converted into Suitable stores, and the brand will be incorporated into the other Suitable stores.
